Zimbabwe: Sacred Heart of Jesus lay association taking root in the Diocese of Hwange

Earlier this year, in a letter addressed to priests, seminarians and faithful of Hwange Diocese, Bishop Raphael Ncube of Hwange Diocese announced that he had approved the MSHJ guild to operate in the diocese. He acknowledged that Hwange was the only diocese in Zimbabwe where the MSHJ guild had no presence.
In his letter to the diocese, Bishop Ncube explained that the MSHJ guild was now an approved association in the Diocese of Hwange. The Bishop appointed Fr. Jabulani Nyoni as the Diocesan Spiritual Director for the guild.
Harmonious relations
Bishop Ncube further advised sodalities in the diocese to work together in harmony. “Each association has a special gift,” he said. He called for mutual respect among the various diocesan associations and said members were free and allowed to “move from one association to another.”
The Sacred Heart of Jesus guild in Zimbabwe is highly regarded and officially endorsed by local bishops and clergy, who frequently call upon them to spearhead synodal initiatives, charitable works, family values, and community mobilisation for various causes.
Membership spans the entire country, with thousands of active members across the country's dioceses. As a prominent lay movement, members focus on prayer, charity, and family spirituality.
