According to the Holy See Press Office, this morning, 25 October, the Holy Father Leo XIV met with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, together with Mr. Tarek Mitri, Deputy Prime Minister.

The pair subsesquently met with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Holy See Secretary of State, accompanied by Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Holy See Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations.

During the talks, which the Holy See Press Office called "cordial", the good bilateral relations between the two countries were stressed, as was the Pope's upcoming journey to Lebanon, from 30 November to 2 December 2025.

The discussions also covered the "hopes placed by the Lebanese people in the process of reform and stabilization of the country", as well as "the shared hope that full pacification of the entire Levant will soon be achieved".
